The band.
The Dutch rock band Frogland has a long history. We will not bore you with all the details.
Basically founded in 1994. Played a lot of gigs, festival and opened for some big (Dutch, rock and pop) bands. They won almost every talent show they ever entered. Hence accumulated some studio time and with money saved released some CD's on their own. Which sold nicely along with the T-Shirts. Got close to a record deal in 1997, but then split up. A year later the commecial/coverband carrier of Frogland's front man René, took off like a rocket. And apart from just writing new material it remained pretty much silent.
Up until 2002. Already contemplating starting up Frogland again (this time with the really really, truly right people), René met, and was completely stunned by, drummer Florian. This event triggered a frantic but patient surge. Via the Internet they found the first add-responding bass player to be a 1.000% match for the job. (former Mike and the Mellow Tones bass player: Jules). It took this trio almost a year and countless auditions to find a suitable lead-guitarist. Finally Florian asked his friend and very well respected guitar player Daniel to check out the band. The moment he plugged in… it was a done deal.
Mid 2003, regrettably, but for the happy event of becoming a father, bass player Jules decided to step down a bit. On the most recent studio recording session (march 2004) his place was amply filled by local bass-legend Ruben. |
